"Through The Darkness" began in summer of 2013, as Slipknot's #3 Chris Fehn entered a Los Angeles studio to begin working on a collection of rhythmic visual art. With Fehn was Los Angeles art team SceneFour, who have heralded the medium of rhythm-on-canvas over several years.

Like a painter using brushes with oils, Fehn was outfitted with a variety of sticks that lit in different ways to create rhythms that would translate to visual artwork when captured. Following the capturing process, the visuals were isolated in another studio and tediously manipulated to bring forth the abstract.
